Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Philippians 4:4

In a world overshadowed by despair, God’s goodness remains evident if we take time to reflect. The fears of wars, global warming, inflation, sickness, and the unknown dominate headlines and hearts. Fear seems endless, but does this mean we cannot find hope, peace, joy, and love? Does it negate the death and resurrection of Christ? These questions demand answers.

Every age in history has faced its challenges—there is truly nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Yet, Jesus assures us we are not alone. He is the message of hope: "Christ in us, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27). He is our peace, giving a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). He fills our hearts with inexpressible and glorious joy (1 Peter 1:8).

Today’s reflection reminds us to be thankful despite life’s trials. Psalm 63 offers guidance:

Seek God First: "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you" (Psalm 63:1). Just as I, an Arsenal fan, yearn for a championship after 20 years of drought, our souls must thirst and long for God. This is the first step to overcoming fear.

Show His Glory: "I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory" (Psalm 63:2). Like in Moses' time, God’s glory must shine visibly in our lives and churches. The Church should reflect His wonders, pointing the world to a loving Father.

Praise Him Always: "I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands" (Psalm 63:4). Regardless of life’s challenges, praise remains a constant, whether in joy or sorrow.

Paul's call in Philippians 4:4 is clear: Rejoice…again, rejoice! This isn’t just a fleeting command but a lifestyle of unwavering joy in the Lord.

Brethren, let us carry this message beyond today: no matter the circumstances, rejoice in the Lord always. And again, I say, rejoice!
